สุชาดา สิริธนาวุฒิ

สุชาดาเรียนจบปริญญาตรีจากคณะนิเทศศาสตร์ สาขานิเทศศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยอัสสัมชัญ เพราะหลงใหลในศิลปะ ภาพยนตร์ จึงทำงานเป็นคนทำหนังอิสระตำแหน่งต่างๆของ ภาพยนตร์ทั้งในระบบและนอกระบบอุตสาหกรรมประเทศไทย

ผลงานส่วนตัวของสุชาดาเป็นงานวิดีโออาร์ต ศิลปะจัดวาง และ หนังสั้น สิ่งที่สุชาดาถ่ายทอดออกมาในผลงาน มาจากหาความหมายและตั้งคำถามที่ได้รับจากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว หรือชีวิตประจำวัน ที่มีต่อตัวตน สิ่งแวดล้อม เหตุการณ์ทางสังคม และการสื่อสารระหว่างมนุษย์ด้วยกัน 

ปัจจุบัน สุชาดายังสนใจที่จะสร้างงานสื่ออื่นต่อไป อย่างเช่น งานเขียน ภาพถ่าย ดนตรี และ งานออกแบบ เป็นต้น

Suchada graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication Arts from Assumption University. Her passion for the art of cinema inspired her to become an independent filmmaker, assuming various responsibilities with both independent and mainstream studio films in Thailand.

Suchada’s personal work ranges from video art and installations to short films. Personal experience and daily interaction provide the vantage point from which she explores the effects and significance of self-esteem, social milieu, social events, and human communication.

She is also currently working in other types of media like writing, photography, music, and design.

ห้วงเวลาที่เรามีทุกข์และเศร้าเสียใจ มักเป็นช่วงที่เราหลบอยู่กับโลกส่วนตัว จมอยู่อย่างนั้น จนอาจเผลอลืมความจริงแท้ในชีวิต ที่ว่าเรื่องในวันนี้เดี๋ยวก็กลายเป็นเรื่องเมื่อวานของวันต่อไป

การที่ฉันบันทึกภาพจำลองห้วงเวลาของบุคคลขณะเล่าเรื่องความทุกข์โศกของพวกเขา ทางหนึ่งเพื่อขุดค้นข้อสงสัยที่ว่า ทำไมบางครั้งคนบางคนถึงเศร้าเสียใจมากมายกับเรื่องบางเรื่องถึงขนาดนั้น น้ำตาที่ไหลออกมาไม่หยุดจะมีวันหมดไปไหม แต่ท้ายที่สุดแล้ว ฉันก็หวังว่า ความเศร้าทั้งหลายนี้จะถูกกักเก็บไว้ โดยถูกแปรสภาพให้คงอยู่ในเทปบันทึกภาพดิจิตอล นี่อาจเป็นหนทางปลดปล่อยสิ่งเหล่านี้ออกจากตัวพวกเขา และหากเป็นอย่างที่ฉันหวังไว้ ฉันก็อยากให้พวกเขาหลุดพ้น ไม่ยึดติด เป็นอิสรภาพจากความเศร้าโศก แล้วก้าวเดินต่อไป

The moments when we are sad and in pain are the moments that we seek refuge in ourselves and wallow in our sorrow. So deep do we sink that we forget the inevitable truth of time: today quickly passes into yesterday when tomorrow arrives.

The video recordings of these simulated expressions of grief is an excavation into my deep-rooted questions as to how some people  are overcome with grief. Will the torrential stream of tears ever cease? In the end, I hope that their sorrow will be contained by being transformed into a digital signal. These recordings may offer an opportunity for a cathartic emotional release. And as a result, I’d like them to escape from their sorrow in order to free their hearts to take a step forward into tomorrow.

Floating Thoughts

มีความทรงจำถึงสถานที่แห่งนี้เรื่องหนึ่งที่ยังคงติดอยู่ในความคิดคำนึงของฉัน

จนฉันคิดว่า หากความคิดของฉันมีตัวตนอิสระ สิ่งนี้ก็อาจกำลังลอยวนเวียนไปรอบๆอาคาร ปะปนไปกับความคิด และความรู้สึกของคนอีกนับล้านที่เคยมาที่นี้

สนามบินแห่งนี้กำลังจะถูกยกเลิกใช้งาน การบันทึกภาพอาคารเก่าที่เงียบเหงา

อาจเป็นการบันทึกภาพสถานที่ก่อนอำลา หรือ อาจเพียงมองหาตัวตนความคิดของฉันเอง

ก็เพื่อเอ่ยคำลาจากความคิดนี้เช่นเดียวกัน

There is a memory of this place still lingers in my mind. It made me think that if my thoughts were free then they might be floating around in this building. And mingling with the floating thoughts of a million other people who've passed through its doors.

This airport is about to be abandoned. Capturing images of this empty building could be a way to remember it and to say farewell. Or it could just be a way to track down my floating thoughts and bid them farewell as well.

Trail of Love

2005 / Short Film / 15.30 minutes

พิชชาและเพื่อนๆเก็บขวดที่ลอยมากับทะเลได้ พวกเธอลองเดินสำรวจเส้นทางตามแผนที่ที่อยู่ในขวด การแกะรอยที่ในตอนแรกเหมือนเป็นเพียงหนึ่งในกิจกรรมที่พวกเธอเล่นกัน ก็กลายเป็นประสบการณ์ที่น่าประทับใจ พิชชาแบ่งปันเรื่องเล่าวันวานให้กับชายหนุ่มที่เธอผูกพันธ์ทางอินเตอร์เน็ต ทั้งสองตัดสินใจนัดเจอกันที่เกาะแห่งความทรงจำแห่งนั้น  แล้วเมื่อโชคชะตาเล่นตลก พิชชาตัดสินใจเดินทางไปที่เกาะนั้นอีกครั้ง เพื่อทำบางอย่างไม่ให้ติดค้างในใจเธออีกต่อไป

Picha and her friends find a map in a bottle at the beach. They try to trace the map for fun but it soon becomes a meaningful event in her life. Picha relates the story to her internet friend. They agree to meet for the first time at that beach. An unfortunate turn of events brings Picha to the island alone where she sets afloat her last hopes.
